The Arms of the Commune

THE ARMOIRIES OF THE COMMUNITY
Since 31 May 2002, the town of Vailly sur Sauldre has its coat of arms, like many other communes.
The composition is inspired by the weapons of two illustrious characters of the Xth century who were successively lord of Vailly: Jean Poton de Xaintrailles and Jean V de Bueil.
They describe themselves as follows in heraldic language:
Discarded: 1 and 4 from mouths to silver lion; in the 2 and 3, diazur in the crescent amount of silver accompanied by six crosses recryed at the foot marked with gold.
They are surmounted by a classic golden crown. They symbolize strength (lion) and serenity (cross and cross);
These are the words inscribed in Latin on the banner placed under the tip of the coat of arms (fortitudo and serenitas)
These two great captains were closely involved in all the events of the reign of Charles VII.
