OSSUARY 1863 and 1998

Cemetery road of Barlieu

In 1842, the construction of the church's southern chapel, which encroached on the cemetery, led the mayor to ask the prefecture on 21 June 1844 for permission to move the cemetery.

The construction of a second chapel in 1862 made this transfer imperative.

The bones were transferred on 23 March 1863 to the new cemetery and placed in this ossuary. A new stele was laid in 1998 to replace the damaged tombstone.
