Henri Baudet Stadium

The stadium of Vailly sur Sauldre is named after Henri Albert Baudet, born in Concressault on 17 July 1890.
Henri Baudet was a particularly elected member, active for his commune, he modernised the sports structures for youth and the development of leisure facilities.
He was an experienced executive within the FFIs. Its role in the sector was crucial to the organization of the maquis.
He died on 12 July 1944 announces the « Berry News » in the performance of his duties.
Why does the stadium bear its name? It is not just a tribute to an elected official, but an act of solemn remembrance:
Sacrifice: giving the name of a dead man in battle to a place frequented by youth is the highest tribute that a commune can pay.
The symbol: the stadium becomes a living monument.
It celebrates the freedom for which Henri Baudet fought and sacrificed his life at the age of 54.
He was a visionary elected candidate who understood the importance of a sports field for a rural commune.
