STATUS OF HIS MAGLORY

(VIth SIESLE)

Magloire was born around 535 in Glarmorgan, Wales.

As a monk, he was formed by Saint Iltud and became the second bishop of Dol-en-Bretagne, succeeding Saint Samson.

This statue was collected in Brittany around 1905-1906 by Joseph Audebert – veterinarian – captain in garrison at Pontivy (Morbihan).

It was the time or, under the law of separation of the Church and the State (December 1905), all religious signs were eliminated from churches, monasteries...

He is venerated as a saint in the Catholic Church, and his feast is celebrated on October 24.

He is known for his prayer life, wisdom and charity. He died in Sercq.

His relics were transferred to Paris in the 10th century.

This statue offered to the then municipality in Vailly sur Sauldre by the Audebert family, was set up on 26 February 2004.
